The mission behind postural restoration
When this Institute was established, it was done so as a way to explore and explain the “hows” and “whys” behind the postural adaptation. This includes both the scientific and medical explanations behind asymmetrical patterns and their influence on the polyarticular chains of muscles.
Those who seek certification and training are committed to correcting dysfunctions through innovative treatments. this restoration as a form of therapy treatment is meant to address, diagnose, and treat the primary contributions of postural kinematic movement dysfunction. Essentially, these treatments get to the root of the problem and aim to correct the dysfunction, rather than simply masking the symptoms.
Simply put, postural restoration is a method that strives to improve the practice of physical medicine. This Institute is a way to create and provide resources, educational opportunities, patient-care programs, and research to those who are committed to gaining expertise in the most contemporary, innovative, and effective methods of patient care. It is professionals have extensive knowledge on how asymmetrical affects interfere with the human body, including:
- Neuromuscular applications
- Postural imbalances

The basis for this restoration therapy is to recognize the imbalances and typical patterns associated when an individual overuses one side or one system of the body to the point that other areas become weak and inefficient. When normal imbalances are not regulated by reciprocal function during walking, breathing, or turning, a strong pattern can emerge. This creates structural weakness, instability, and musculoskeletal pain syndromes. The therapists at Choice Therapy have special training in this techniques to return you to normal functioning.
