Therapist of the Week: Leah Gray (Occupational Therapy Assistant)

Leah was born and raised in the Bagley, MN area. After high school she attended Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN and graduated in 2004 with an A.A.S. degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. After college Leah and her husband moved to Rochester, MN for 5 years working in the transitional care unit and long term care patients. In Brainerd, MN Leah continued her experience with the transitional care unit and home health care for 3 years before relocating to the Bagley area. Leah enjoys spending time with her husband (Levi) and 2 kids (Dylan and William), fishing, hiking, biking, and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with other friends and family.

Therapist of the Week: Amber Nickerson (Speech-Language Pathologist)

Amber was born and raised in Bemidji, MN. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Master’s Degree in 2006. Amber has worked in skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and with outpatients and pediatrics. She has been married to her husband, Barry, since 2004 and has one daughter, Chloe. She enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and enjoying the outdoors. Amber started working full-time with Choice Therapy in September 2011.

Therapist of the week: Jesse Anderson (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Jesse is originally from Vergas, MN. She went to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community & Technical College in East Grand Forks, MN where she graduated with an A.A.S. degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.  Jesse moved to Bemidji in June of 2011 after she graduated college. She married Jordan in September of 2012 and they have a daughter named Bethany.  Jesse likes to spend time outdoors and with her family.

Brady was born and raised in Fosston, MN. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2009 from North Dakota State University and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 from the University of Minnesota. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, running, being at the lake and record collecting. Brady is a certified in Functional Dry Needling.

Therapist of the week: Erin Wark May

Erin grew up in Mahnomen, MN and currently lives in Osage, MN. She received her undergraduate degree at Minnesota State University Moorhead and earned a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Arizona in 1998. After 6 years as a speech-language pathologist in school settings, Erin joined Choice Therapy in September 2013 as a pediatric and school-age speech-language pathologist. Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, reading, and baking.

Therapist of the Week: Andrea Brodina – Master of Physical Therapy

Andrea was raised in Bemidji, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of North Dakota in 2000 with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. She married her husband, Jason, in 2000. Prior to returning to Bemidji in 2004, her work experience included acute care, home health, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient orthopedic. They have three children, a girl and two boys. Andrea enjoys a variety of sports, the outdoors, hunting, spending time with her children and family, reading, sewing and cooking/baking.

Employee of the week: TJ Knowles – Physical Therapy Assistant

TJ earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Bemidji State University and his Associate of Applied Science degree from Lake Superior College. A life-long resident of the Walker area, TJ is married to his high school sweetheart and is looking forward to sharing his love of hockey with their two sons. When he is not helping others as a Physical Therapist Assistant, TJ can be found playing and watching sports, landscaping, and spending time with family and friends.

Employee of the Week: Kori Geiger – Master of Occupational Therapy

Kori grew up in Eveleth, MN and after high school went on to college at Minnesota State University Moorhead to earn a Bachelor’s in Photography. She was then sent out into the world and it turns out…the real world is harder than initially anticipated. So after living and working in various parts of the country over the next few years, she finally decided to go back to school for Occupational Therapy at the University of North Dakota. After receiving her Master’s degree, she finally found her way to Bemidji, MN to work at Choice Therapy as an Occupational Therapist. In her free time she enjoys everything outdoors, especially spending time in the BWCAW, horseback riding with her horse, Firefly, and taking walks with her Great Dane, Isis.

Employee of the Week: Leah Weller – Doctor of Physical Therapy

Leah was born and raised in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She pursued a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences graduating in May 2015. Leah had the opportunity to complete several outpatient orthopedic clinical rotations throughout the country including Washington, Colorado, Idaho and Minnesota. She enjoys working with all populations of people, and believes that the combination of manual therapy and guided therapeutic exercise can be extremely beneficial to return people to their highest level of function. Leah enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, traveling, bow hunting, water skiing, watching football, anything lake related, cooking/baking and spending time with family and friends.
